Burrington – Brown Ale

As the name suggests, this beer is English in origin. With a subtle, roasty flavor and a hint of caramel malt, this beer has an exceptionally smooth finish, perfect for those patrons not crazy about hoppy beer. It’s brewed with chocolate malt and East Kent Goldings hops. Another versatile ale from our brewery, you can take it home in a growler and enjoy it with a wide range of roasted meats and heartier food.

Our Brown gets its moniker after the original name of Manchester. The City Fathers felt the name Burrington was too close to the name of another growing Iowa town – Burlington – so a change to the name Manchester was warranted. We liked the name Burrington, however, as it provides an appropriate English name to a great English style beer. So great, it won first place in the 2014 Independence Brew-B- Q festival! We couldn’t be more excited to serve you this award winning beer!

As a bonus, if you’re a Java Head, rejoice! Burrington Brown is the base beer for our Coffee Den Java Head Brown. We’ve taken Burrington but added copious amounts of cold pressed espresso from our friends at the Coffee Den to give the Java Head a rich aroma and wonderful espresso flavor.
